Head off to Adventure !

Afghanistan, not the version you’ve heard

The country has been through a lot, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But people travel here now, calmly, in the regions we know well.

Forget the headlines for a minute and you’ll find bazaars that haven’t changed in centuries, valleys with almost no other foreigners, and a welcome that catches everyone off guard. Our job is to take you to the parts worth the trip, and be honest with you about the rest.

Here’s how we handle safety.

There are three ways to come, depending on how much you want planned for you.

  • Our small group tours are the easiest way in, with fixed dates, a set route and an Afghan guide who knows it inside out. See our group tours.

  • Prefer your own pace? We build a private trip around your dates and your interests, with a guide who’s yours alone.

  • Or you head into the mountains on a trek through the Wakhan Corridor, high in the Pamir, where the only traffic is yaks.

Where we take you

Where we take you

  • Bamyan, where two giant Buddhas once stood, in a calm valley ringed by snow.

  • Band-e-Amir and its six impossibly blue lakes, the country’s first national park.

  • Kabul, with its gardens, bazaars and food you’ll keep thinking about.

  • Mazar-e-Sharif and its dazzling Blue Mosque, with ancient Balkh right next door.

  • And the wilder edges, the Wakhan and Nuristan, deep in the mountains.

Why travel with us

We’re a French-Afghan team, so you get European organisation alongside real local knowledge. Our guides grew up in these valleys and know which one is calm this week and where the best tea stop is.

We only run small groups, never a coach and never a crowd, and we’re reachable around the clock, for you on the trip and for your family back home.

Is it safe? We get it in almost every message.

The short version is that with the right local team, in the right places, people travel here every year without trouble. We tell you exactly how we work so you can decide for yourself

We were in Kabul in August 2021

We’re a French team, on the ground since 2020. We were in Kabul when the city changed hands in 2021, and we came back three months later.

Between us, we’ve covered this country as journalists, dug into it as researchers and worked here in aid, so we know it well past the headlines. Every trip runs with Afghan guides who grew up in these valleys, and as far as we know, we’re the only French-Afghan agency doing this.
